• Chinese Food, By Golly!

  The Palace is a bit slummy, but to be honest it's not the dearest place to get a take away. There are other Chinese take-aways about - there's even the Jasmine House a few doors up - but if you're poor/tight then the Palace is for you. You have the option of sitting down to eat although you will have to put up with people getting their takeaways walking right by you as there isn't actually a defined walkway, you just sort of have to make your way to the back in and out of the tables. Last time we ate there I got the squits, I aint saying they poisoned me or nothing, I'm just saying is all.The sweet and sour sauce has an unnatural colour as well. To be honest, I don't think I would eat there again, I quite like the Angel Chef in Gloucester and there's an Indian across the road. It's not awful food, it's just not all that good, either. Although they did give us some prawn crackers once for actual free. My affections can be bought so easily it makes it hard for me to remain impartial. For fairness I ought to add the Angel Chef give mints at the till and the Indian restaurant man gave my daughter a chocolate once.
